Fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) have a well-documented history as a prebiotic product as an alternative to oligo-fructans, mainly from chicory. FOS has a number of technical characteristics that make it a preferred choice as a prebiotic, and therefore, it commanded a price premium. CPL’s report covered aspects of prebiotics markets, including trends, main players and products.

The objective of this project was first to assist our client in identifying potential partners. We then aimed to facilitate one or more suitable partnerships for developing its products where they had the most value, especially in human food and dietary supplements.
