Objective
The objective of this market feasibility study was to assist our client in understanding the (1,3)-(1,6)-β-D-glucans business in order to identify possible partnership opportunities for it to become a player in this business.
The study provides an overview of the beta glucan market for human immune health. This includes an analysis of market size, key market segments, current players, key success factors, barriers to entry and an overview of the current IP, current research, prices and doses.
Method
During the course of the study many contacts were made with (1,3)-(1,6)-β-D-glucan producers (sourcing from both yeast and mushrooms), distributors and supplement manufacturers in North America, Europe and Asia. Interviews were conducted with those knowledgeable in the industry and contacts were made at trade-shows.
CPL carried out an extensive search for (1,3)-(1,6)-β-D-glucan on the patent databases mainly in the US and Europe.
The main contents of the study were based on a large number of other sources including in-house databases, government regulators, trade journals, patent databases, scientific journals and existing reports on the immune market in Asia, Europe and the US.
The data collected were used to assess and analyse the key players’ strengths and products in sufficient depth to allow conclusions to be drawn and recommendations to be made.
