In this case study, a diversified chemicals company engaged CPL Business Consultants to look at areas of opportunity for industrial gas in agriculture. CPL provided a comprehensive report on the areas of opportunity, including market insights recommendations on opportunities to pursue and also go-to-market scenarios.
Objectives
CPL’s client, a diversified chemical company, wanted to expand its activities in the food chain and required information, particularly on where it could play in agriculture. In order to provide this information, CPL appraised areas of opportunity for industrial gas products and services in agriculture (arable and livestock) and aquaculture.
Method
Following a workshop with our client, CPL conducted internal brainstorming sessions and preliminary research to identify areas that warranted further analysis. The subsequent study focused on describing key characteristics of markets, such as size and growth rate, technologies currently in use, and an appraisal of the potential for our client in each area.
The report used data from public sources and databases, CPL’s internal databases, in addition to contacts from across the sectors of interest to make recommendations.
