J0204 Fruit Preparations Sector Study

The objective of this study was to provide a sector analysis of the fruit preparation business for the client.

In order to describe and analyse the European and worldwide market for fruit preparations, telephone and email inquiries were made to companies involved in the production of fruit ingredients.

Producers were asked about the prices of their products, the service they offered to their customers, the requirements of their customers, the trends in the industry, the characterisation of the industry, success factors, barriers to entry etc.

Users of fruit preparations were also contacted i.e. those companies involved in the manufacture of dairy, ice cream and bakery products. These were asked about their product and service expectations, the level of and quantities used. Contacts were also asked about the dynamics of the fruit preparation market in terms of its direction, size and growth.

Conclusions were drawn about markets, players and products, and success factors and barriers to entry.
