Have a look at our PowerPoint Introduction and Brochure describing deliverables, differentiators and case studies. Eight case studies can also be reviewed.

Objective

The objective of this study was to identify and provide overviews of specific areas of opportunity relating to plant nutrition. The project assisted the Client in deciding on areas of opportunity in which it could invest.

Method

The plant nutrition market was initially segmented by 7 market segments with 28 sub-segments, based on the function of the products and the ways in which they were used.

These market segments were quantified based on sales by nutrient, application type and region

The competition and value chains were analysed, >25 companies were profiled (including an analysis of product portfolio, example technologies and product specifications for each company)

An analysis of the challenges and unmet needs for each segment was completed; more than 20 key industry stakeholders were interviewed to support this.

An IP review for was undertaken based on an analysis of >3000 patents.

Six areas of technical opportunity in plant nutrition were identified and these were consolidated into two main themes.

Business cases were developed for each area of opportunity and non-parametric analysis used to rank these opportunities in order of potential attractiveness for the Client.
