AZ07 Partner Opportunities for Glycaemic Index-Lowering Ingredient

Objective

The objective of this project was to assist our client in identifying potential partners and then facilitating partnerships for the development of its novel product suitable for use either as an ingredient in food or as a dietary supplement.

To present the ‘opportunity’ to potential partners, a non-confidential ‘teaser’ and a confidential ‘Information Memorandum’ were produced based on the client’s work to date.

Method

The approach CPL used was to prepare a non-confidential ‘teaser’ of a few pages. This outlined what is available.

CPL contacted ~600 companies to make them aware of the opportunity. Responders were offered a confidentiality disclosure agreement, after which an ‘Information Memorandum’ was sent, along with the clinical data report and the client’s patent.

CPL talked through this IM with candidates that wanted to talk. Teleconferences and one-to-one phone calls were held and after identifying potential collaborators CPL has discussed the opportunity with them.
