In this case study, CPL Business Consultants assisted a client in assessing potential markets for L-Arabinose and recommended a go-to-market strategy.

Objective and Background

The purpose of this project was to assist our client in developing its strategic and tactical plans for producing and selling L-arabinose into existing markets and/or developing new opportunities for this product with strategic partners.

Method

CPL’s approach was to base the main contents of the study on in-house databases and a network of contacts in addition to publicly available information (e.g. data from government agencies, patents, scientific journals, trade press, internet etc.). Additional information was sought from other key resources within the industries concerned.

CPL used its network of contacts, including the CPL Executive Search network, to elicit information that would be difficult for clients to obtain independently.

For this study, we obtained data on volumes and values, sales, trends, exports/imports, and patents. We conducted around >40 interviews with those knowledgeable in the industry. We referred to our own earlier work to use as a baseline from which to project current volumes and values.
