Objective

The objective of this project was to provide an overview of the two markets for geriatric nutrition and infant nutrition ingredients and to identify potential new opportunities with the emphasis on ingredients for geriatric nutrition and aging; infant nutrition and antioxidants and natural food preservation

Method

The main contents of the study were based on sources available to CPL including in-house databases and an extensive network of contacts (CPL ValueNet) in addition to public sector information (published, internet etc.). Additional information was sought from key contacts within the industries concerned as appropriate.

Contacts were made via email, on the telephone and face-to-face. Over 350 emails were sent, a number of contacts were made at exhibitions and conferences and 45 contact reports are included in this report.

After screening out opportunities that were unlikely to be of interest, 21 potential opportunities remained which are included in this report.
