Q9609 Alginate in Petfood

The objective of the study was to help a client focus its strategy by analysing the current and future use of alginate in petfood. The study also investigated a number of other ingredient options including blends of hydrocolloids, seaweed fibre, and chitosan.

CPL provided technical, legal and commercial analysis, as well as an assessment of the current petfood market and its main trends. We analysed barriers to entry and key success factors in the industry, especially in the higher-value segments. We obtained views from a large number of manufacturers on the use of alginate and other hydrocolloids in their products.
